Instructions and Help about How Form 8865 Defined

Hi, my name is John Brakefield. I'm a lawyer in Gainesville, Georgia. In this video, I'm going to talk about how policy limits on a personal injury case do not necessarily mean that will be the recovery. For example, if someone is in a personal injury automobile accident that is realistically worth fifty thousand dollars but they happen to have two hundred fifty thousand dollars in insurance, it does not mean that your case is therefore worth 250 thousand dollars. It's an interesting fact to note that many times when people have a high dollar claim and they have high limits available, the insurance company will fight over a little bit. So, for example, if the claim is actually worth 250 thousand dollars and the policy limits are two hundred fifty thousand dollars, the insurance company will many times say, "Well, gee, what do I have to lose by taking this into trying to pay 250 either way?" So, they will come in to offer that is lower than the $250,000. I hope this information has been helpful.
