Hi, my name is Miguel from Avoid Errors dotnet. While working on a client's WordPress website, I encountered an error when uploading a theme. The uploaded file exceeds the upload max file size directory in PHP. This issue can happen on any hosting provider, not just One and One where this WordPress site is hosted. The default max upload file size in WordPress is about two Megs. For this tutorial, I will show you how to modify the PHP ini and access your web host via FTP. If you are unfamiliar with FTP, you can always contact your hosting provider, and they will guide you through the process of accessing your root directory or WordPress installation. Let's begin. First, locate the root directory after accessing your web host via FTP. Inside the root directory, find the WP admin folder and open it. Now, search for the PHP ini file. Remember, it should be inside the WP admin directory. Before making any changes, it's always a good idea to create a backup. Create a folder on your desktop and name it "PHP backup" (or any name you prefer). Drag and drop the PHP ini file into that folder. Now, right-click on the PHP ini file, located in the admin's folder, and select "Edit." Look for the following lines: upload max file size = 64 Megs post max size = 32 Megs These values have always worked for me, but you can change the size if needed. However, I do not recommend going over a hundred Megs. After making the necessary changes, click on "File" and select "Save." Close the editing window and delete the local file if prompted. Confirm your changes by clicking "Yes." To double-check, right-click on the PHP ini file again and select "Edit." Make sure the lines you modified are still there and properly saved.
