Instructions and Help about Who Form 8865 Holders

Music, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Turn Right Machine Works. My name is Keith, and we're here in the machine shop today. We're gonna be running on the Claus II and making some tooling for the K and T. We're gonna start by making our number 40 machine tapers for the KMT. We want to make two holders, one for a big tool and one for an inch and a half holder. We have our 4140 hot roll to work with. First, we'll set it up and get it running between centers to create two good centers and a true OD on the outside. We have a four-jaw chuck here that we love, and we'll stick the metal in the chuck to create a face and a center drill. Then, we'll do the other side as well. Alright, now let's check the measurement. We have 1 1/8 inch right there, and we'll come out here at the end. It looks like it's around 90s. We'll focus on this end right here. This metal is hot rolled, so we may have some variation. We'll measure around five or ten points with the four-jaw chuck. We have 89, 89, 89, a little high here at 95, 90, 91, 92. That should be good. Alright, let's go ahead and give it a face and a center drill on that end. Now we'll move on to the other end. We have about 80 there, and 40 there. That's good. There's no need to make another pass because the center will be the main focus. This piece will have a 5/8 thread and a small diameter nub. That's clean enough. Next, we'll move to the drill press or hydraulic press to set up our center. Now we'll skim cut our center to ensure it's true with the running axis....
