Hello, I'm Brian Tracy. I'm often asked about the habits of successful people - what they do consistently every day that leads to their success. Aristotle once said that 95% of everything we do is a result of habit. So the key is to form good habits and make them our masters, rather than allowing bad habits to form. Good habits are difficult to form but easy to live with, whereas bad habits are easy to form but hard to live with. A turning point in my life was when I discovered that all habits are learned and can be unlearned. Actually, we don't unlearn a habit, we simply replace a bad habit with a more powerful and impactful good habit. So, how do we develop good habits? Through repetition. Almost everything we do, from the moment we wake up in the morning, is a habit. Therefore, we should start thinking about what the best habits to have are. I have written a book called "Million Dollar Habits" that covers twelve critical areas of life, with twenty to thirty habits in each chapter. Let me share some of the best habits with you. First, develop the habit of daily goal setting and goal orientation. This means thinking about your goals before you go to sleep and making a list of the goals you want to accomplish the next day. Keep a journal and write down your goals regularly. Throughout the day, think about your goals when driving or talking to others. Remember, you become what you think about most of the time, and you achieve what you think about most of the time. Second, be results-oriented.
